About Diane

Diane Waingrow, Los Angeles Modern ArchitectBorn and raised in Los Angeles, Diane headed east to Smith College where she earned a B.A. in Art History with a concentration in architecture, and a minor in Music. Upon graduation from Smith, she moved to the Bay Area and worked for several architecture firms in downtown San Francisco. Diane received a Master of Architecture degree from UC Berkeley, and her thesis explored the “Silvers,” a group of prominent architects who were experimenting with wrapping buildings in thin, high tech curtain wall materials. Upon returning to Los Angeles, Diane worked in a variety of firms where she learned about high-rise condominiums and multi-family housing, hospitals and medical office buildings, and then, finally, modernist, contemporary residential architecture. With great excitement, Diane began her own practice with the design of a home for her family.
