However, some functional floor plan problems needed to be solved, and finding room for an additional guest bathroom seemed prudent given the emphasis on entertaining. So, the floor plan was reworked, and the spaces were accommodated in some cases with just inches to spare.
The homeowners had been cooking and baking for years and knew exactly how they wanted the kitchen to function, and it was a challenge to get this functionality into a small space. A separate baking counter, a walk-in pantry, an island layout, and a 4’Miele workhorse range come directly from the wish list. Specialty items like a Grohe high-performance filter, cooler and carbonator, and an Urban Cultivator for growing healthy and organic vegetables, herbs, and microgreens take this kitchen to the next level of professionalism.
The flooring is sustainable cork and the kitchen opens wide to the garden with Nana Wall bi-fold doors. The bathrooms are finished with custom Heath tiles and Diravit sinks and cabinets, and the master bath was just large enough to accommodate a 4’ soaking tub adjacent to the shower. The homeowners already had some beautiful mid-century pieces and we continued the aesthetic with the finish materials and especially with the decorative lighting.
