There has been much discussion about the scope of the project and how to balance the needs of the family with the expectations of building for the neighborhood value. Since the site is on a corner lot and close to the bluffs, the schematic design has explored driveway/entrance locations, and ways to take advantage of the views. Program arrangements have emphasized an indoor/outdoor experience while focusing on the client’s preference for an open plan. From the beginning, the building has been oriented with the open spaces screened and adjacent to the street side where no future adjacent development could block the openness and sunlight of the yard.
